We hope you have had a great summer! As always, we are looking forward to September and a new start to the school year. As you anticipate being back with school friends and experiencing new learning opportunities, we know you are experiencing the same excitement as well. This will be a great year where we can grow together. Timetable pickup Timetables can be picked up starting August 31^st from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm according to the following schedule: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 – Grade 12 and 11 timetable pick-upWednesday, September 1, 2010 – Grade 10 timetable pick-up If you are unable to attend on your assigned dates, please have someone else pick up your timetable. Anyone who has an outstanding account from last year will need to have her/his account settled before picking up a timetable. The Student Services staff will be available from August 31^st – September 2^nd from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to deal with timetable conflicts. If you attended summer school, your Guidance counsellor will automatically affect changes to your timetable during this same week. No other timetabling issues will be dealt with at this time. Locks Combination locks with extra security will be available on the dates outlined above for $8.50. Please do not select a locker before being assigned one. Yearbook The 2010 - 2011 yearbooks can be purchased for $35 until October 29. From November 1 to January 31, the price will be $45. (Please note that prices reflect publishing deadlines.) Please ask your student to listen for announcements in September. Please make cheques payable to Glebe Collegiate Institute – Yearbook. There will also be an on-line purchase available. Please see the flyer enclosed. While the purchase of the Yearbook is optional, we strongly encourage purchasing one for those cherished memories. Students waiting until the Yearbooks arrive in June to purchase a copy will pay $50.00. Fees:We are requesting a voluntary school enhancement fee of $20 so we can continue to support interscholastic and intramural sports, special events and Students’ Council activities. Because this fee does not cover all enhancement activities, additional support may be required depending on your course choices and extra-curricular involvement. RECEIPTS WILL BE ISSUED FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE YEARBOOK AND VOLUNTARY FEES. Student PlannerAll students are encouraged to purchase their own planner. Planners are an excellent organizational and learning tool. Planning and being prepared for school are not an option; planning is expected of all students.

Welcome to Glebe Collegiate Institute! You are about to become part of a long tradition of excellence. We know that each of you comes with unique skills and abilities to share with us. We will grow in our experiences together. Through mutual respect and dedication, we will serve each other as we pursue our dreams and educational goals. Orientation &Timetable Pickup Day Please report to the gym at 8:45 a.m. on Thursday September 2, 2010 for an orientation session by the Administration and Link Crew. It is of utmost importance that students attend this critical day. Alphabetical lists will be posted in the main lobby identifying each student’s period one class and room number. Link Crew Leaders will be available to assist you in receiving your timetable and finding your period one class. Combination locks will be available for $8.50 on September 2^nd. Please stay and join us for a free BBQ in the park. The staff in Student Services will be available to address any timetable concerns on September 2^nd from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Make Your Mark at Glebe

Make a donation to Glebe Collegiate Institute and we will recognize it with a seat plaque in your name (or someone else's name). It will live on a back of a seat in Glebe's newly refurbished auditorium. Every donation will bring Glebe School Council one step closer to reaching our fundraising goal of $15,000 to help pay for auditorium improvements.
