October/November Scholarships

 

National Merit Scholarship (students graduating in 2009) – open to citizens or those intending to become citizens of the U.S.; grade 11 students must write a preliminary on October 15th or 18th to be considered in the selection process their graduating year

 

Loran Award - open to university applicants; minimum average of 85%; character, service and leadership are the selection criteria; students seeking a school nomination must fill out a general application form in student services by October 6th. Deadline for nominated students October 20st ; deadline for direct applicants October 27th, 2009

 

TD Canada Trust – open to students planning to attend college or university in Canada who have demonstrated outstanding community leadership; 20 renewable scholarships; deadline is October 30th, 2009

 

Wendy’s Classic Achiever – open to college or university applicants; minimum 70% average; participated in at least one extracurricular activity; demonstrated volunteer involvement in local community; deadline November 2nd, 2009

 

Marion Dewar Scholarship Fund (Extended Deadline) – eligible candidates must be an immigrant or refugee, demonstrate significant financial need, plan on enrolling at a college or university in the fall, have a good academic standing (80%+), and demonstrate leadership skills and community involvement; deadline extended to October 19th, 2009
